Edo Commissioner Says High Performance Driven Governance Is A Hallmark Of Obaseki’s Regime


...As NAWOJ Praises Governor For His Developmental Strides

      The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Edo State Chapter has paid a courtesy visit to the governor of  the State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, and they were received by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Christopher Osa Nehikare at the Ministry’s Conference room in Benin city, Edo state.

     Speaking for the group, the Chairperson of  Edo state NAWOJ, Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan, extolled the government of Governor Godwin Obaseki on his developmental stride in the state, as well as his signing into Law the VAPP Bill. 

   Comrade Ehimuan also appealed to the governor Obaseki to look into some of the needs of the Association which include; furnishing the Association with a befitting secretariat, creating  women development hub and creche as well as vehicle to aid the mobility of her members.

  Responding to the women requests, Honorable Commissioner  for Communication and Orientation Mr.Chris. Nehikhare on behalf of the State Governor thanked the work being done by women journalists in the state.

The governor equally  promised to convey the demands of the Association to the governor, as well as solicit for the support of the governor on behalf of the body.

    Commenting on the issue of promotion of staff in Edo Broadcasting Service raised by the Chairperson of the association, the Commissioner stated that, this regime was a high performance, driven government, and that the Edo Broadcasting Service  was already being transformed to suit the vision of the government, hence the issue of promotion would be handled without any form of sentiments.

    Given his remarks, the Permanent Secretarty  in the Ministry,  Barrister  Solomon Imohiosen appreciated NAWOJ for solidifying with the ministry and promised them of his continued support.

     More so, the event  had in attendance the Honourable Commissioner for communication and Orientation, Honourable Chris Nehikare, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Solomon Imohiosen and Directors of the Ministry while over 15 women journalists drawn from various chapels of the Association in the State were in attendance.
