Obaseki, Igbinedion Describes Barri. Agbonwanegbe As A Reliable, Consistent Politician In Edo

Edo state governor, governor Godwin Obaseki has described Barrister Christopher Agbonwanegbe, as a reliable and consistent  politician whose advises and counsels had help him to focus on governance in the State.

Governor Obaseki made the statement at the 70th birthday of the former Commissioner for Agriculture in Edo state, during Chief Lucky Igbinedion era, Barrister Christopher Agbonwanegbe organized by the governor, friends and relatives of the celebrant in Benin city, Edo state.


Obaseki extolled the celebrant:" Today, we want to thank God for the life of one of us. We are here to celebrate one of us, who I known for the past 10 years ago. Is my friend and a brother. He is very consistent in the politics of the State.

" Barrister Chris Agbonwanegbe is somebody who believed in the development of politics in Edo state. Almost every months, he must remind me of one or two issues of what is happening in Orhionmwon local government area.

" For your information please, I have divided the contract in the construction between Benin-Abraka road into two. I have brought two contractors so that we can finish that road before the year ends," Governor Obaseki emphasized.

According to Godwin Obaseki said, he is very proud of the celebrant as a result of his concern and proactiveness of the politics in Orhionmwon local government area,  and in Edo state.

Given his speech, the Chairman of the birthday event, Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, represented at the occasion described Barri Chris Agbonwanegbe, as an active student in Students Union politics in those days in school.

Chief Lucky Igbinedion said the celebrant was also very active, when he was schooling in Edo College, Benin city and stressed that Barrister Agbonwanegbe remained one of the committed and diehard PDP members for many years.

He said the celebrant has a very good strength of character and possess good sense of loyalty to remain still in PDP despite the constrains . He explained that the celebrant was very loyal to him when he was serving as a commissioner in his government.


In his birthday speech, Barrister Chris Agbonwanegbe commended everybody that attended his birthday reception. He asserted that governor Obaseki had done more things in the state but refused to use constant publicity to make Edo people know what his regime had done.


Barrister Agbonwanegbe who was former commissioner for Agriculture and former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, buttressed that the state governor is a man that know the roads of politics in the State.


Agbonwanegbe's  therefore appealed to the Edo people who did not believe in the political vision of governor Godwin Obaseki to try and follow the governor so that he would be able to deliver the dividends of democracy that he promised Edo indigenes.
